We have a bit of a natural experiment here. Compare the tone, quantity and duration of Charlie Kirk coverage with that of the two Dem lawmakers gunned down in their homes in Minnesota 6 months ago. May be revealing.

In case you can't tell what just happened, JK Rowling instructed her followers to take photos of anyone in a women's restroom who doesn't match their idea of Western feminine beauty standards. Short hair? Thick cheekbones/jaw? Too tall or broad-shouldered? You're now "a man" and will be harassed.
If you're still buying wizard book shit, you are no friend to the trans community. Here's the wizard book bigot inciting harassment against innocent people to her 14 million followers on the nazi app.

And no, they can't Always Tell.

Not sure if this has been shared here yet, but this is video of Rumeysa Ozturk's arrest posted by WCVB. It's terrifying.

Thanks @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social for reminding us to keep working for the good even when it seems like the world is falling apart. The "Everything is Tuberculosis" book tour is going on right now, and the Boulder stop tonight was a fantastic one.

It’s REALLY important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against downtown bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of the evidence that they are better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Bike-lanes mean business.

Someone on Twitter/X told me inclusive playground are "woke." That's nonsense. Playgrounds aren't political. Inclusive playgrounds are purpose built so kids of different abilities can play together. Let's build another one. I'll match the next 50 $5 donations: www.coloradogives.org/story/8wxbze

First #booksky post I guess? Happy StoryGraph collage day for the month of February, with 7 books read, and 9 graphic novels.

And yes, I am hooked on the Solo Leveling anime and no also manwha right now. It's very bingable.

My essay on Denver's 29th ave bike lane fiasco in @westword.com!

Who gets veto power over the safety of our city's streets?

(And yes, I just signed up to Bluesky today. Who should I be following here?)

Do bike lanes make traffic worse?

See vid 1 for the impact on ridership & health

It's easy to feel frustrated when you are stuck behind other vehicles in traffic & see a bike zoom past or worse, an empty bike lane. In that moment, it can feel like the bike lane is making things worse. But is it?
