Karen Read verdict is in. If you heard about the case, please consider participating in a voluntary and anonymous academic study. It does take about 10 minutes to complete but it is an important study. I hope you can share www.tinyurl.com/KRpostVerdict

I have not been present in this brighter space because of the dark, dark research I am conducting elsewhere. One very negative side of Netnography is that if you research the dark side, the emotional burden can get pretty high.

New Netnography publication with @markjpelletier.bsky.social It is for everyone as it deals with online review manipulation. Super excited and honored because this special issue was edited by some of the netnography superstars. Link to a study: kwnsfk27.r.eu-west-1.awstrack.me/L0/https:%2F...

I am a little behind
Section 230. Social media platform lawyers have been fighting for years that algorithm isnt editorial decision but in this Supreme Court arguments in TikTok ban are arguing to the alternative... Potentially opening the door to some lawsuits against smp

My coauthors and I did a study on Depp v Heard. It was pretty extensive.
I am now looking at Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni social media induced crisis and how our model can be applied to this situation . We address attitude reformation, among other concepts which both stars could use at this time

With the recent lawsuit filed by Blake Lively, I notice wild similarities to the paper we presented at a marketing conference and now in review by a major marketing publication.
I definitely see the evidence alignment between our findings and what is in the lawsuit. #brandcrisis

Working on the last revision of the year (as I doubt any of my in-review manuscripts will have a decision this year). It was a busy, busy year.

Discrimination is alive and well. I am happy to see this win. Don't tell me it's not a big deal or not worth fighting. Stand up for what's right.

Academics: as you review papers, please remember. There is a person, a human being reading these. Ask yourself: would you be comfortable saying all the same things to the person's face? Be constructive, not destructive.

In a span of 9 months, I grew a set of twins (some time ago) ... Two whole humans... Yet, somehow, this initial review is still not back. Will I ever hear back?
November 16, 2024 at 11:52 PM
Academia: I think some academics need a reminder that there is a human that reads their reviews. Your grumpy self does not need to bring people down. I have been fortunate this year with only one rejection but as I work through some revisions, I am reminded that anonymity has a dark side
