Remember when nativists pretended to care about the costs that one city was choosing to incur to house immigrants who were unable to work because their nativist laws? Now they're paying all that and more to arrest, detain, and house people who were working and paying taxes.

This is beyond cruel, especially for young folks who are going through it. Cutting off LGBTQ+ youth from specialized suicide prevention help is a death sentence disguised as bureaucracy.
Shame on every official who signed off on this. You’re not protecting children, you’re abandoning them.

This is heartbreaking and monstrous. I know cruelty is the point but these are already at risk kids. I'm protesting everywhere I can. It's appalling how fast this administration is destroying the lives of so many people.

In a lengthy exchange, with ICE Deputy Field Director Bill Joyce, Reps Nadler and Goldman are denied the ability to visit the 10th floor. Joyce says it's not a detention facility it's just a place ppl are housed for several days w/out beds.

Can someone in immigration law explain to me how this is legal?
When ICE agents look like this, it is ENTIRELY APPROPRIATE for state and local law enforcement to step in and demand they identify themselves and show judicial warrants before detaining anyone from an immigration court.
Democratic mayor and governors can take action on this.

Talked to so many people who were at the first protests of their lives today. Ex-Republicans, introverts, 90-year-olds and 3-year-olds. This was at an intersection in a 60,000 person town. Haven’t felt hope like this in my life.
