The thing I miss the most about 90s/00s Internet is the idea of 'cyberspace'. A location on the Internet being a 'space' that is worth decorating, it has a culture. Like a bar that anyone can visit but it has its own personality created by both the owners and via regular patrons who go there.

It's never about the children, it's about control. Personal responsibility when people need help, but government action with people need to be controlled. Going full fascism there.
