Loves reading, walking, listening to a massive range of music, knitting, photography, making things including stained glass sometimes, loves nature and outdoors and my cat 😊Bedfordshire based in a little market town. I don’t follow everyone back but hi 👋
Both such interesting women. I love the work that the artist Sydney Padua made creating whole graphic novels involving Ada Lovelace and Babbage.

Beautiful Ashridge this morning.

I love it when feelings about a day and situation keep you buoyed up for a long time 😊. I had one on Saturday, went foraging with friends and made wreaths in the pouring rain then dried out and had a massive chilli together with some 2023 vintage slow gin

It was, I need to go back again, the time ran out on the street parking sadly. I really wanted this item for myself.

Also this which made me just as angry now as it did when the riot happened under the auspices of a football match (see the alt text in the images) - it’s the copy of the West Haddon Enclosure award, dated 24th August 1765, which was discovered in the back of a garage in Leicestershire in 2024

Been to the “Northampton in 100 objects” exhibition today. Really interesting curation and plenty of good clear information. I love this creature, a hobby horse similar to one used by Yardley Gobion Morris.

Raising the devil from the boot where he was trapped. Sorry it starts in the wrong format!

Walking on Thursday, Quainton and Upper Marston where there was a well that @maninthewoods.co.uk would have enjoyed. Pump the handle and watch the devil emerge from the boot where St John Schorne trapped him.

I was impressed that this happened locally on Sunday but as you say, not representative of the wider population.

Long autumn walk (for me) today with @ramblers.org.uk Dunstable, Whipsnade, the big quarry and the tree cathedral. Tired but lots of good company.

This rather outlandish Cosmos in the garden has a top flower that is over 1.8 mtrs tall. The plant is branching in all directions like a Christmas tree and each branch has dozens of buds. Is this unusual????

Oh no, she’s so comfortable and I really need to go upstairs 😳

Attracted lots of attention while cutting back the overgrowth around the footpath signs and hidden stiles. Love volunteering with @ramblers.org.uk by the way, thorns on sloe bushes are huge and sharp, I can see why they may have been used in early lacemaking instead of expensive pins.

YES!!! It’s brilliant. Damn difficult to get a print though I imagine.
I do have a lovely Chris Brown print that’s waiting to be framed. He became friends with Edward and helped put together the exhibition.

Managed to get to the Secrets of the Thames exhibition on Sunday @londonmuseum.bsky.social Docklands. So many of my favourite things there including the Battersea Shield and some of the Dove’s Type. Well presented and fascinating.

I’m so sorry spider, you keep building beautiful webs but you are fixing them onto the bins. I need to get to the bins and I know you’ll build yet another one each time I accidentally walk into all of your hard work. 😔 image is a spider !
