So prioritize sessions! Use them to find your community, use them in the hallway conversations, use them to learn a thing or two.

Sessions give you something to talk about with a complete stranger; they are essential for learning — even senior people can learn a thing or two if they can put their hubris away for a second and pay attention; and they give you ready access to a potential expert in a topic you're invested in.

There are also a ton of field applications for initial data processing before aggregation of results for further analysis.

Yeah I agree with both of these points. I tend to think of it as an access enabler for developers. Getting fast iteration for dev/test on the actual hardware you’ll deploy in production is super important.
