New module trivia: agrobiz try to bolster crop yields by GM their herbicidal tolerance, only for weeds (p. amaranth) to learn glyphosate resistance (Landecker 2024). In 3,000 y.o. Chinese oracles, amaranth is used as elemental metaphor for longevity, holding on (tight-enough) in moral deliberation.

Nothing like a digital tidy-up to rediscover one's own thinking. Found a cool paper I gave back in 2018 and the panel I convened for the Science in Public conference, on topologies of collaboration, interdisciplinary sites, and biosocial research.

On #WorldOceansDay I am reminded of this amazing underwater sonic incursion. I’m used to listening and parsing for bird song in forests, moors, marshes. Listening to the sea from a rockpool is quite distinct: the bubbling of inconspicuous life, often seized by acoustic pollution

Happy #EarthDay! Here’s a cerulean blue passionflower, impressive geometry, biblically named. It’s magnificent that Flora, much like music, can express harmony and grace, rhythm and colour, power and vulnerability as openness to the outer - this is the language that Coltrane called a Love Supreme.
