To my Granny, PFC Laura Amelia Bias and all the mothers & grandmothers of the #SixTripleEight - thank you for your service! We honor you this Mother's Day.  The Congressional Gold Medal you just received honors only a sliver of what you did for our country in WWII.

My Granny - PFC Laura Amelia Bias of the Six Triple Eight (6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion). She never spoke of her service. I only learned of it after her death thanks to my Grampy. 💙🙏 The actual Congressional Gold Medal awarded to the Six Triple Eight/6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion - the only all-woman, predominantly black unit to serve overseas during WWII in 1945.
