Finished this oil painting today. I’m calling it ‘Morning Hunt’. The Prussian blue I used doesn’t really photograph well but it’s a really amazing, deep blue (I wish you could see it in person!)

Got to varnish this today. It’s a portrait I did of my friend, Fran. You have to wait at least 6 months after you finish an oil painting to varnish it. Thumb for scale.

That Batman was my first comic at age 10 (gift from dad). I got a pack of Sabertooth comics from Toys r us and the art 🤯 stayed with me. With Frank, I didn’t know it could be like that! 😳 And Box Office Poison brought comics back into my life right when I needed them.

Throw back to when I did this sci-fi book cover. The author, K.N. Brindle, was really open minded about me doing it in oil paint. I am grateful for their trust in me in exploring the process. (And they got a badass oil painting out of it! 😄)

Worked in this for a bit yesterday. Waiting until the first layer is touch dry before revisiting. I really like how the clouds came out but I need to push the vibrance in the grass.

Got Absolute Batman no1 in black and white. I love seeing comics this way. It kind of makes comic making more more approachable.
