Lovely interview which describes exactly the experience of a working class woman becoming a writer.
"“Having been raised by women who fought for equality, and that famous 90s ‘women can have it all’ lie," says @jennyknight.bsky.social, "Women now actually want to see it in action.”

Oh dear. I’m sure there’s much more of this to come.
Appalling rip-off of the hugely popular work of @samblakebooks.bsky.social Readers beware. Hope this is resolved quickly and prevented from happening again. I can only imagine how stressful and infuriating this must be.

This is a great article on how to use AI. I am using it help me cut down on time - not to write. And as a freelancer who can't turn to someone to "bounce ideas around", it could be a sounding board to help me be more creative. I will report back. www.thehandbook.com/ai-harriet-m...

“Audible unveils plans to use AI voices to narrate audiobooks.” Inevitable. But surely the appeal of audiobooks is that you connect to the voices as well as the story. And feel you are being read to.

I agree with this but with PR no one understands how much time it takes to pitch, how much effort is put in and how much competition there is. Even if you explain it, there’s always ‘more that could be done’. Working with authors over a longer period of time is the answer but no one can afford it.
ICYMI: I’ve had messages from writers saying they have no idea how many books they have sold, that they aren’t sure whether they should email their editor, that they don’t know whether they can query editorial notes, says Phoebe Morgan 👇 #BookSky
