Unpopular opinion: here's how to fix the modern world.
1)Find the closest living relative of the Hohenstaufen dynasty

I didn't want to spend an hour manually sanding headlights, so I bought one of those restoration kits with a drill attachment. "Sand for 10 minutes with the 800 grit paper, then 10 minutes with the 1200, [...]" (Total process: 50 minutes for a single headlight). At least there is the UV varnish.

It's almost 2026, but it still takes a colossal effort to mount an external ntfs drive and move files around without errors from Linux.
I can't wait to reformat everything in ext4 after ditching every force-fed Microsoft product* at the end of the PhD.

6 months ago, I seemingly burned my own laptop's GPU due to lack of research funds. There was a visible hotspot in the metal packaging and thermal paste was completely dried out. However, it came back to life and worked again under Linux, even being able to run games and GPU heavy AI experiments 1/2

Just in time for the mandatory three factor authentication on a poorly configured university mailserver, where every email is forcefully forwarded also to the mandatory recovery account (outside their security perimeter) anyways. And also for people who already graduated/will graduate in weeks.

But is it the right filling? Also no.
Does it hold its shape? Uhm no.
Do they taste good? They are breakfast worthy, unless they disintegrate over night.
Why would you do this? Making ragù at midnight and frying arancine would have been considered insanity, by some people

Non avete un cartellino con gli orari all'ingresso, l'affare girevole dice "Aperto", google maps dice "aperto", dentro le luci sono accese. Io ho provato ad aprire la porta ed essendo chiusa mi sono messo ad aspettare fuori senza insistere. C'è motivo di offendersi con "Che vuoi? Siamo chiusi"?

Yesterday I accidentally had only one coffee (compared to the average of 5 daily). Maybe it is the right time for detoxification, since all the known deadlines I have to meet for now are either self-imposed or non-paid "it would be a waste of talent if you didn't continue to be our slave".

Non solo mi insulti non credendo al fatto che ho una di tesi di dottorato a cui lavorare e non ho la disponibilità economica per fare un capodanno dimmerda con voi pensionati che non avete un cazzo da fare dal 2019, mi devi pure fare scrivere ogni settimana da un parente diverso per convincermi?

Today I've watched Orphans of the Storm (1921, USA, historical drama) and Le Fatiche di Ercole (1958, Italy, peplum, so historical as well?). I need to complete the cycle with another historical movie from 1995. Possibly from China/Japan, to follow the spatial progression as well.

Columbo villains are all smart, cunning, charismatic, have a good explanation always ready, and always pulled an almost perfect crime. Even Jacques Clouseau would be able to expose the orange turd in five minutes.
