Interesting new mouse model for #Parkinsons (PD). Overexpressing α-synuclein in the substantia nigra.
Chronic administration of c-Abi ingibitor PD180970 was neuroprotective (reduced DA neuron loss).
The progression might be a better model of PD than the sudden loss caused by 6-OHDA & MPTP models.

Some good new amongst the Trumpian dystopia pervading the world at the moment.
Not sure when we get this in the UK The 1st in a new class of analgesics: Sodium (NaV1.8) Channel blocker, suzetrigine.
I think at £12.50 per capsule it will remain a bit niche for a while.

THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at Stanford Medicine have devised an influenza vaccine that prompts immunity to ALL four major flu subtypes AND shows potential against bird flu, indicating a significant advancement in flu prevention and a potential increase in vaccine efficacy. Let’s talk about that! 🧪🧵⬇️

Great new Hikki song, "Electricity".
Especially:
"Fearing what we can’t comprehend
Falling into conspiracy theory traps
I’d like all of humanity to read the letter
That Einstein wrote to his daughter
Love is light, love is our essence"

dental plaque bacterium 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘯𝘦𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘪 can divide into an unprecedented 14 daughter cells at once—then each daughter cell starts growing immediately in a rare process called multiple fission, achieving 0.5 mm per day of expansion
