Yeah similar except I had my sandwiches sat in the mud up on Mam Tor

People around me were noting the unseasonably warm conditions for the time of year

That melted, crumbling road is a warning...

Stunning weather so there was quite a few people around today

Bit of a garage vibe to a couple of tracks as well

So yeah, that's an actual tarmac road in the picture

It was quite surreal to look at, seems to have crumbled like a cake in the rain

There was even still some faint white lines in what would have been the middle of the road

The first photo is of the broken road - it was actually the main route from Sheffield to Manchester via the Peak District

It fell apart in 1976 after extreme heat followed by torrential rain and was never repaired

Mam Tor moves around... It's called the "shivering mountain" for the landslides

Here you go, it's well worth a listen to Carl's insider perspective and account of how he ended up running a Black Market Records branch in Canada

That's my thinking too Chris

It was potentially a lot more fragile than it looked, and in the UK we were the cool kids modelling the styles for others to initially imitate, and inevitably produce for themselves later

I'll try and find the interview with Carl, it's fascinating

Highly likely! 😆

I have a feeling we'll be testing the Plot 22 sound system with it on Saturday night...

Interesting piece Chris

The greatest insight I've heard about the economic foundations of the 90's D&B movement comes from Hard Leaders founder Carl Collins

He says the UK market was a loss leader, the real sales revenue came from Germany - makes me wonder if they built a domestic scene instead?
