Unfortunately the mayor is not popularly elected here.
Post election 6 of the 9 councillors voted in Webb as mayor despite the other 3 getting a majority of the primary vote.
A lot of locals not happy about it. Council routinely switches off comments on their socials to silence criticism.

The geezer got 6% of the primary vote at the council election and a majority of the councillors still saw fit to make him mayor.
