I'm a tech that's interested in 8 and 16 bit retro and neo-retro computers 🖥️ and retro-gaming 🎮. I dabble in electronics. I program in Java , C/C++ and Z80 and 6502 assembly.

I love dogs 🐕

I'm interested in world news and US politics.
Further confession: one of my most favourite Final Fantasy memories is playing Final Fantasy Legend II on the original GameBoy, and that's not even a real Final Fantasy game, it's a SaGa game.

Oh please do! There was a guy on Twitter that posted a photo of a stack of them...

...and he threw them away! I'd love a full set to relive my youth. I'm going to try install them on the 486DX4-100 I'm building.

Yes, physical media. All the ISO's are available in one place or another, but you can't beat a stack of CD's :-P

In situations like this, I've head people buy new machines, then return their broken ones saying it didn't work when arrived.

Of course, I'd never do that. It would be immoral to deprive a billion-dollar corporation that pays their staff less than a living wage of a sale 😜

Oh, you should do! It's a really interesting side hobby for techs. With your electronic skills you'd be brilliant at the hardware side of things.

Honestly, I don't think they did. It would be too complex to get away with it. I think when Musk said he thought it was over on the night before it had been called he was looking at the prediction markets.

Are you licensed?

If so I've just had 80m long wite my antenna out back up, I've not pulled a cable through to my office to connect it yet, but when I do we should try and see if we can reach each other!

Should be able to via WSPR at the least.

I knew nothing about Linux, I just knew it was "Unix" and I could make it kinda look like the SGI's IRIX if I put KDE1 on it.

Slackware was the best tutor I had. I had to learn how to setup networking, X86Config, Sendmail and later Postfix, so I knew exactly how systems worked.

My first experience with Linux was with Slackware 96 that came in the back of a MIS Press Linux Programming book.

After that I ordered every Walnut Creek CD I could afford. I had all the Slackware ones and a load of FreeBSD, OpenBSD and NetBSD ones too.

I can remember throwing them out :-(

How was such a stupid, dumb man elected to one of the most important positions in the world?

This is such a multi-generational stain on the reputation of the USA.

The code for this example is in my Agon Light 2 development repo where I keep some stand along examples to refer to and for newbies to try and look at concepts in isolation.

This specific example is here:
