Out at lunch today, I overheard a guy at the next table tell his wife that it’s ICE’s “God-given right” to kill migrants at will. Hate to say it, folks, but this kind of casual, out-loud brutality has become too common. It’s a reminder that evil isn’t always dramatic, it can be unbearably mundane.

Trump just pardoned a cocaine-trafficking ex-president of Honduras who took $1M cash from El Chapo, this as we send carrier strike groups to Venezuela “to fight cartels.” This clearly isn’t about drugs. The core issue is oil for AI watts.

This isn’t just a Trump scandal. It really exposes the utter depravity and abusive tendencies of many elites. It’s a culture of coverups, entitlement and enabling. These webs of protection that shields power from consequence need to come down.

FACT FOCUS: No evidence that $50 million was designated by the US to buy condoms for Hamas
President Donald Trump claimed during the Laken Riley Act signing that his administration had “identified and stopped $50 million being sent to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas.”

@mariaprh.bsky.social — More evidence that they are attempting a demolition of the global economy.
Fed source to me: “It’s like a bank heist and the bank is America. Not really being hyperbolic to say control of those systems would allow an extremely fast collapse of the economy. Imagine it’s a plumbing system and someone takes a sledgehammer to the central pipe.”

Of course! Let’s blame minorities and stoke more racist hatred. It’s a useful distraction away from the fact that he fired several key aviation safety officials before this crash, leaving those positions unfilled. Expect more accidents like this moving forward due to lack of oversight.

Low rates (below 3-4%) do more damage to the economy than its main goal of increasing asset prices every year. 10% is too high, but 4% is fine -- good for savers and 80% of the population. Anything lower only serves to benefit speculators and private equity, and their asset stripping activities.
BREAKING: The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady and gave little insight into when further reductions in borrowing costs may occur as inflation remains above target, growth continues, and the unemployment rate is low. Follow our live coverage: reut.rs/4glMAsa
Fed Meeting Live: Rates held steady
The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady. The U.S. central bank dropped language that inflation "has made progress" towards the 2% inflation goal.

Triggering an economic depression to own the libs. Gov’t employment is not inefficient, it literally holds the country and the economy together. This is true for every nation that has ever existed. It provides services to the public, not for profit. These people will find out the hard way.

This will backfire. Why should the U.S. pay more for the most advanced technology in the world? This will be a massive blow to American tech companies, hurt national security, slow down the pace of scientific research & development, and raise costs for consumers.

One of the central problems that America has is that we aren’t in the leading edge of innovation anymore. We’re more interested in financialization and rent-seeking instead of building useful products that are efficient and cost-effective. That’s the back story of today’s market crash.

They seem intent on gambling away our entire reserve currency status on short term tough guy posturing. What happens when other countries get tired of our shit and reduce trade with us? Get ready for hyperstagflation and perhaps a major financial crisis.
It's Official: Trump is raising a MIGHTY new tax on roses with his 25% tariff in retaliation for Colombia refusing to cooperate with a pair of his military deportation flights.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Assume that a tariff-only revenue structure really does result in the revitalization of industry and a drop in imported goods, that would mean the complete evisceration of our tax base. This will leave our gov’t with no money to do anything. It would be catastrophic for our economy.

History offers us a guidebook as to what to expect moving forward. Too few heeded the warning signs and now we will have to live through it.

Instead of telling people exactly what we know, what we don’t know, and how we intend to find out what we don’t know, the new administration seeks to cover up public health threats. Not a good augur for what’s to come.

This basically is a scheme to corruptly make the Bitcoin market more liquid by getting the U.S. government to subsidize it, with no obvious benefits to the public and a great risk that the we will be stuck with illiquid, volatile, and useless digital assets, while early investor cash out.

Their goal is to intimidate journalists from reporting the news. Big media outlets since the campaign have been pulling punches in their coverage of Trump because they have threatened them with litigation. This is how the media climate looks like in an authoritarian order.
Today, #KashPatel sent a letter to my counsel @markzaidesq.bsky.social threatening to sue & demanding I retract my MSNBC comments on his unfitness to serve as FBI Director. This follows his threats against media & political opponents, showing how he might act if confirmed. I stand by my statements.

Welcome to oligarchy, Russian style. This is how he will consolidate control of the country at the elite level. Corporations will have no choice but to cooperate with Trump or face state sanction.
Trump will not deport migrants working for the companies of his friends and donors, and he will grant tariff exemptions for the companies of his friends and donors. Watch.
