Managed to snap a shot of this beautiful hummingbird moth in my garden!

My yard is in bloom, and I feel like I am defrosting.

Waiting in line at the advance polls for the federal election. It’s pretty busy, and I’m told there’s an hour wait. This pleases me so! Let’s go Canadians! Vote! Vote! VOTE!

Today my beloved cat, Busy, is nineteen years old. Please enjoy these photos of our little celebration yesterday! Biz gobbled her salmon pate enthusiastically, and the rest of the family had a chocolate-frosted banana cake.

There are some flurries today, and it’s barely above 0, but my neighbour’s magnolia tree has big, fuzzy buds on, and spring is coming!

My kid wanted to turn a photo of her friend group into a colouring page. They all marvelled at the result of my woefully dated photoshop skills, and thanked me enthusiastically.

Cool mom points achieved!

Please enjoy this picture of Cutie, our hamster, hanging out on my son’s bed while I cleaned her habitat this evening. Her teeny paws and floofy fur are a lovely distraction from the doomscroll.

It’s becoming a series. Every night lately, at some point, Busy and Eric have a snuggle like this.

My yard looks like this, but it’s 5° today so it feels like spring!

This is the view to my left. She’s purring so loudly, but is so sleepy, it sounds a bit like a congested pigeon. I’m surprised she isn’t drooling. May we all be so comfy!

It got up to -2° for a bit this afternoon, and I was so excited that it was “warm” enough to dig a spot out of the snowbank for the recycling and garbage bins! I keep reminding myself that it’s only another month or so of this.

That’s enough. We can be done now, thanks!

Prepping all the flavours for tonight’s supper (to be added to a pile of veg in the slow cooker) and my house smells divine.

Saturday night vibes.

This is Busy. She will be 19 next month, and wants you to know that I do not give her enough treats and wet food for her liking. A travesty, to be sure.

Beta testing the new Flashes app. Looks like it crossposts automatically.

It appears that the new plants in my daughter’s aquarium came with some new friends as well.

Went and logged in to my Blogger account for the first time in twelve years, for funsies. Found a random influx in traffic from 2021-2023, and it’s got me curious about where it came from. Who? And why?

Also, alternating between laughing at myself and cringing as I skimmed the posts.

I’m pretty sure Bodega Cats is my favourite account to follow.

Trudeau as a person? I think I would find him delightful, were we to meet as people! As our PM? He’s had long enough. I like him, and I feel like some good work has been done, but not enough.

I want NDP next. We need to move this country away from this back and forth between red and blue.

I made the mistake of going to the mall this afternoon, on the same weekend as an American shopping holiday that has seeped up north. It was bananas!!

I’m working from my kitchen table this morning, so that I can watch the squirrels and blue jays clean up the bird seed I spilled while filling the feeders earlier.

Too much negativity in your day? Please enjoy this photo of Cutie, my son’s pet hamster. Look at those little whiskers! And the teeny paws!!

I need my feed to be waaaaay less U.S.-centric. As much as I am afraid of what’s going on down there, and how it will affect my country, I need to look away from the wreck. The rest of the world is interesting too!
