So true! Also would you agree that this is particularly a problem here in the UK? Not a native speaker, but I struggle with BJC papers more often than with any others. A large part of British social science is written in the style of the humanities, a style that has become prohibitively hard to read

Instead of relying on vignettes, I used the sentences passed in a high-stakes judicial exam, where trainee judges sentenced one and the same case based on >100-page-long simulated court file. They had skin in the game, and spent 6 hours choosing and justifying the sentence 🧑‍⚖️
