It's a paradox! We have scored goals which is great obviously but the way we played, especially in the first half, we should be able to create far more quality chances than we do. We've had the least shots in the PL by quite a distance despite goal scoring seemingly not being a problem.

I will bow to your knowledge but I don't think the kick off "glanced" off anyone's hands and it doesn't matter if it did. If the kick lands in the landing zone and stops in the end zone it's a live ball. The reason teams have 2 players back to return kicks is to avoid this exact situation!

As a Burnley fan I'm completely unbiased... however from my point of view that is only 'a clear example of holding' when you overly rely on slow motion. In real time it was next to nothing and shouldn't have been one of those instances worthy of an overturn. Oh well, thanks for the replies.

Should that really enough for a VAR intervention? At normal speed it's a fleeting hold and nothing like a sustained hold the ref described in his explanation. Classic case of looking far worse in slow motion and with the still you used.

"Watch it at full speed, and there really is nothing in it. If the referee gives this on the field, fair enough, but it's not for VAR"

You could have written that word for word about the Man Utd penalty. Ref described it as 'sustained' but in reality it was a split second.
