Thomas Robert Malthus was born on 13th or 14th February 1766 (sources disagree which). His parents were wealthy but radical. TRM was rather more conservative. He is famous for his pessimistic “Essay on The Principle of Population”. He worked as professor of economics at the East India College.

I think it was the NUT, National Union of Teachers, but the badge designers thought it looked better that way. I used it in one of my T-shirt designs, as a comment on a later logo controversy.

One of the best bad statues was that of Southampton football hero Ted Bates. I believe version one was funded by public subscription. It was met with such derision it was removed within a few days. A director then funded a replacement which is generally regarded as very good.

Eddy Grant and John Hall founded the Equals - a mixed black and white band - in 1968. They produced a combination of pop and political songs. Hard to think of anything less appropriate for Trump.
