Where is @sarahkendzior.bsky.social? Why has renowned author and scholar, Sarah Kendzior been suspended by Bluesky? Censorship? I don’t buy “false attribution”. Isn’t this site supposed to be better than Twitter?

WTF?!?
Why does a search for Sarah Kendzior’s @bsky.app account show that @sarahkenzdzior.bsky.social is suspended?
It had better be #HidingInPlainSight or else Bluesky has som ‘splaining to do…

Imagine the audacity and the cruelty to tell people they're not allowed a hot meal. What's that? You don't have to imagine because that's actively happening in the US.... Greeeeeat *sarcasm*

Authoritarianism scholar & journalist Sarah Kendzior has been banned here for no apparent reason and the head of the "Trust and Safety Team" is currently sephirothposting about it in case you all are wondering about the state of this platform

banning authors for talking about their research and daring to speak out about authoritarian states is a bad look bluesky. i thought you were different???

Sarah Kendzior was named by Foreign Policy as one of the “100 people you should be following on Twitter to make sense of global events.”¹

Why do you suppose @jay.bsky.team would choose to censor the Bluesky social media environment by throttling and suspending a vital, pro-democracy voice?

The list of people arbitrarily banned from Bluesky continues to grow, while known bigots have their accounts verified.

It's fucking wild.

I'll be really honest and vulnerable about something here. It can be hard to have been working as a freelance disabled person in mixed media for the last 14 years, and still feel like I haven't "made it". Disabled people's work, time and input is vital, and I wish people understood that.

I found out from you all that SNAP recipients in the US aren't allowed to buy pre-prepared meals while also not being allowed hot meals. This is a whole other level of ableism. So many disabled people reliant on SNAP can't cook, or don't have the means/energy to. These "benefits" are so unfair.

When conferences and construction projects were happening & ppl were employed, sex workers got work.

When the stop work order came, sex workers were also largely ordered to stop working

Had a fascinating conversation w a dozen sex workers today—ages 25-60ish, some w their infants w them. Main takeaway: USAID cuts hit their work HARD, not just bc ppl who lost their jobs are also now doing sex work, but bc USAID projects led to conferences whose attendees hired them (& no longer do)

It is great that the US Supreme Court has rejected the case to overturn same sex marriage. Now, if they'd overturn the ruling that says disabled people on benefits can't get married. Thanks so much.

It's sad how many people don't know these kinds of details about SNAP and part of why it's so frustrating when I see people insist that UBI should not replace SNAP when implemented. Yes. It absolutely should.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

I live in Canada on Disability Benefits that include a special diet allowance. A few years ago when I went to my pcp and filled out all these forms detailing my dietary restrictions, my benefit was only approved for $30. disabled people often can't eat "healthy food" because they can't afford it.

Yeah it’s blatant bigotry and eugenics. Disabled folks have a higher rate of poverty (by a LOT) then abled folks and are more likely to use SNAP and also less likely to be able to prepare their own meals and can’t buy prepared meals!! It’s motivated by pure hate!

disabled people deserve to be able to feel desirable. I struggle with feeling “ugly” due to my disabilities, and I wish that we talked about that feeling more.

So at the beginning of Nov Congress would have been paid, unless they specifically had their pay check held.

I would argue they should donate it because they haven’t worked.

Maybe a good question for reporters to catalog?
