An important win by Allison Riggs, the Democratic justice & candidate in the 2024 North Carolina supreme court race: a federal appeals court pauses state courts' order that helped her GOP opponent's bid to overturn Riggs' win in November.
BREAKING: Fourth Circuit, on a 2-1 vote, stops all implementation of N.C. courts' orders in the state supreme court election. Niemeyer, joined by Heytens, writes the decision. Quattlebaum dissents, finding the district court order to be an unappealable TRO. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Let’s be very clear here. North Carolina Republicans are trying to:

*steal
*cheat
*disenfranchise
*lie

their way to a state Supreme Court seat they lost at the ballot box.

Stay focused on this; oppose their shameful actions and protect democracy.

Quick facts re: NC Supreme Court race -

-NC voters elected Justice Riggs in November. PERIOD. Her win was confirmed by 2 recounts.

-Voters decide elections. NOT candidates and NOT judges. No candidate can retroactively pick their voters, which is what Judge Griffin is trying to do.
