So I’m leaving Instagram because of all the fascist comments, deepfakes, and general brain rot. Unfortunately, for most people, the only way to keep in touch is to go to WhatsApp. Does Meta even care people leave if they’re just moving to their other app?

I just got emotional watching videos of the first flight landing in Nuuk. Can’t wait to visit Greenland.

Rússia just declared "the international
LGBT movement" as an extremist organisation intensifying persecution on LGBTQ+ people. But this also allows targeting of dissidents under the pretence of being LGBT. As if they needed more excuses to do what they've already been doing.

Kept a lot of paper in a pocket while in Bratislava waiting to find a recycling bin. Got to Vienna Hbf to take my train to Munich and dumped it on the blue bin. Turns out it was blue for metal and not paper, as I’m used to. Guess it is time for the EU to finally implement that harmonised color code.

During 3 consecutive days last week, Portugal ran solely on renewable energy and sold the extra output to Spain! 65% was wind power. How cool!
Portugal esteve 3 dias a consumir apenas energia renovável
De acordo com dados da REN, em Portugal, a eletricidade de origem renovável produzida naquele período foi de 521 GWh.

Separately, I've been having a tab open to tetris on my computer all this time and I navigate to it whenever I feel overwhelmed or have some downtime.

I can't say for a fact that that's what helped, but the intrusive thoughts from graphic images/descriptions have been a lot better this time around!
Separately: I highly recommend NOT going and looking at the pictures or reading the article.

And if you're going to, go play tetris immediately after; research has shown it can help prevent PTSD and image retention

The Brexit playbook, in Germany: run down public services and infrastructure to the point of collapse, blame immigrants for the fallout.

And the country is falling for it, too.

I’m so glad Siri can now read the first paragraph of Wikipedia when I ask a question! It’s been a complex learning curve.

A social media account recommended by Elon Musk for its coverage of the Israeli war with Hamas with a long history of antisemitic posts is connected to a southwest London teenager, according to research and a text exchange with the account.
Accounts Musk recommended on X belong to a teenager and a U.S. soldier
One social media account recommended by Elon Musk for coverage of the Israeli war with Hamas appears to be run by a London teenager, another by a U.S. soldier.

Today Savage Love kept playing until the very end - usually I stop after the response calls. So turns out @dansavage.bsky.social is here (just like he's been in every argument I've had with my partner(s) for the past 12 years). Lesson learned: from now on I'll keep it playing until we're both done.

Sometimes, an empty room is exactly where you want to be. Thank you @bsky.app - it is very refreshing!
