There’s quite a few K-8s between Whittier and Parkside, but I’m not thinking of any actual middle schools on the south east side of MKE.

Ooh, that’s an interesting thought! Also as a parent who went to a traditional middle school for 6-8, the thoughts of my incoming 6th grader missing the “middle school experience” feels weird. But we’ll see how the k-8 model goes.

I didn’t even realize Whittier is only K-5. So many MPS Elementary schools go through 8th grade now — including the 2 our children go to — that I didn’t even realize we still had actual middle schools in the district.

Interesting! My 2 children go to schools listed, and I’m not sure I realized they had higher open-enrollment numbers.
