The sad thing is that so many projects esp post 2020 were cancelled. This includes Paranormal Park, which has been the main subject of debate

But where a lot of adult oriented and live action shows tend to try to fit gay characters into straight shows, family animation has been out here putting authentic queer divergent families and found families that look like our actual friends groups. Things we wished we grew up with.

Literally between like 2013-2020ish queer animation and more diverse animated characters on screen were thriving. The industry itself doesn’t always have as much representations as the shows. It’s been an uphill struggle to have female show runners for a start, and some networks don’t care for girls

Adopting their rhetoric to feel superior won’t build a movement. You’re valuable not because you work and pay taxes and have a stable family and mind, and take the correct allotted amount of showers in your clean house, but because you’re a living person with the right to exist.

The more upper/middle class white right wingers hate you all equally. They just find some of you more useful to their cause. Farage and those like him will be coming for immigrants and benefits and disabled and workers rights. People will vote reform whilst thinking the flags are chavvy and tacky.

(Replacing queerphobic and racist shite with “reformers” and “white trash” dog whistles don’t make it suddenly fine)

The working class will never liberate itself like that for sure.

Ugh - at least they decided against services having to provide single sex space. It’s going to be easier for most places to just go gender neutral on a lot of things than police this bollocks. Though I doubt this will end there

People who have had a decent career will save of course but for most people it’ll be a case of either we are sitting on property and getting by, or if we aren’t, hoping our kids can afford to keep us. Or I suppose euthanasia is an option should we all live that long

Jobs aren’t at all stable now. So many businesses go out of business, shops shut, staff cut. But very few people want to hire workers over 50. Never mind 60 or 70. We will be on the dole or sitting on savings after trouble hits. Perhaps begging for change to cover the gas bill

Whether I’m looking up the head of UK Palantir, Oswald Mosely’s Grandson, or whether it’s this Robert Bates, centre of Migration Control - public powerful figures - I’m faced with the Right to be Forgotten. I wonder how many regular people on LOLcow use this vs people in control of our world

33. Disability is not an edge case. It’s the baseline reality of human life: aging, illness, injury, etc. The outlier is perfect health, not debility. Disability is the truth capitalism can’t stand—because it shatters the fantasy of endless productivity.
