Having stared at the county-wide receiving/sorting demographics, I see it in this data too and can predict the magnitude to be about ~2%. See the cyan (dropbox) -> red (mail in) -> green (late mail in)
So today’s drop will probably be 53% Wilson, down 2% from yesterday

Oh hi that’s me.
Basically every 9am I have been scraping the KC receiving (sorted but not verified) demographics dashboard for the raw ballot counts. Subtract off the previous day, and you get the newly received demographics. That demographic would precede the actual tabulated drops by 1-2 days.

Always magical to see King County ballot sorting at work! This is in the mail-in/dropbox-only voting state of Washington.

Right this moment, Wilson is estimated “down” 15 if you count only the received and demographic’d ballots on the King County dashboard, multiplied by the Stranger poll demographics breakdown.
I’m going to refrain from optimism until I see “down by 12” or better before actual drop happens tonight

The MOST 💰-unjust place in the US is Teton county Wyoming, where billionaires buy up gigantic ranches and place the land under "conservation easements" to perform subsidized tax-dodge "environmentalism".
Bruce Harrell wants to import this injustice to Seattle in 2026.

It’s eerie how Trumpy his tone becomes when Seattle mayor Bruce Harrell gets the mildest challenge from a journalist.

It’s also funny that these are rated badly even among WaPo subscribers.

This is how much just a single wildfire (Bear Gulch) has burned in 2 months: nearly 20000 acres, and 8 million trees.
As Seattle was arguing about individual tree NIMBYism in wealthy neighborhoods, a million trees a day was burning.

This insta reel is from Parks Foundation, the umbrella under which Tree Action operates.
This is the whole game. Push development into “gray zones” 🙄, protect their own backyards, worsen environ injustice.

All of these are just randomly encountered by yours truly on walks, for no obvious development reason whatsoever.
Maybe they had good reasons, maybe they didn’t. But like Alex says, relying on private landowners to protect trees has always been a farce.

There is quite a few things that I find funny, as you use the NPI platform to repeat propaganda names.
For example, as you say these hoarded detached trees are “easily seen from public sidewalks”, your landmark example is in a neighborhood with virtually no pedestrian sidewalks and safe streets.

Btw, left is a map of 24” dia trees, and the right — well, you know that one well from the primary.
See any similarities?
The op ed amendments will raise the cost of new housing in very specific nbhds. And push development into high displacement risk ones. I wouldn’t say that’s a progressive goal.

Here is a spring graph showing amendment support/oppose.
The larger the amendment circle, the more people supported it.
If multiple amendments were mentioned by same person, the closer those pull toward each other. The reverse is also true, opposition pushes apart.
You can clearly see the two camps.
