the astonishing thing about this wave of denialism is that we have more or less decidedly hit the point where clean energy is the *cheaper* option by some distance
I'm kind of baffled how the "moderates" have apparently all decided to turn against climate policy at once, just as China reaches green electrostate liftoff mode. I thought these people were all about National Greatness and making Hard Choices

Ah yes, in Germany they called this "lebensraum"

But one thing that's important to note: this was their policy back during the campaign too even as people believed for some reason that they would only deport crininals
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

People who appreciate and support religion because they see it as an organizing principle or “power structure” are more pernicious than people who reject it outright. If Christianity is not about the crucified and resurrected Lord and His commandments to us then it‘s dead and deserves to be.

And, critically, to take a sick and debased sadism from it all. An inverted moral sadism that is predicated on rape and the mass human sacrifice it requires.

The republican party is the party of rapists. They worship at the altar of rape. They all want to rape and facilitate rape, whether it is of women directly or of the social benefits system, what matters is someone is violently dispossessed of their agency because that is their rightful allotment.

So yes, as many feminist/gender/sexuality scholars and writers are noting, it all really does come back to a political movement built on a shared idea and that shared idea is rape, the idealism of rape, the social purpose and necessity of rape, and the domination and hierarchy it creates, all of it.

Whether Kelly herself is in on this, idk and idc, it is her audience who is stewing in the ambiance of this culture, a culture that is trying to make a big comeback. The idea that it is just “normal” to want a girl at her “peak reproductive age” is a regular talking point at Turning Points USA lol

People are making their jokes but this is white Christian culture writ large. Women, girls alike are raised to understand that men goes after young girls because its their sex that makes them virtuous and their pursuit is just a natural thing that happens. Boys will be boys, men will be men etc.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

tá faltando marx aí.... o agente do enriquecimento não é a pessoa, mas o capital. ser um sujeito inteligente, cultivado, elevado não é pré-requisito pra ser rico. se tiver alguma relação, é no sentido contrário.
the more you learn about the rich people who hold the entire world in their hands and how dim they all are- real pigshit for brains, embarrassing, tedious, mediocre thinkers--the more it just makes you want to start screaming and never stop

"skin as part of brain?"

This is that great intellect people talk about?

There's an interview somebody did with Nabokov where the interviewer said "you know, Hollywood actors get married to young girls all the time and everybody thinks it's cool, what's so bad about Humbert Humbert?" and Nabokov is like "he is evil and she is 12 what the fuck is wrong with you?"

some people opposed 'woke culture' because they thought they had better, fairer standards and others opposed it because they don't have any (and hope you don't either)

in online corners like these I think people largely recognize how credulous, unprincipled opposition to "wokeness" functioned as lightly papered over defenses of impunity, but it's one of those drums people should probably start beating for normies
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

It just wasn't a big, newsworthy deal like, for instance, the college applications of a mayoral candidate to a school he didn't get into or attend.
To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

Putting aside all the horrible shit in them: I cannot believe the global elite composes emails like fucking horses who somehow learned to crudely type. My emails read like Shakespeare compared to the lowercased, unpunctuated screeds written to the worlds biggest pedophile. Fucking write like adults!

Me Too gets talked about as a reaction to Trump’s first election in quasi-psychoanalytic terms, like it was a repressed confrontation with an unreachable, displaced enemy. But you could also see it as a very straightforward and conscious retort to Trumpism’s professed values!

It’s not just that Trump is personally a rapist, though there’s lots of credible evidence to suggest that he is. It’s that he is promoting a fundamentally pro-rape ideology, and that the permissiveness for rape and entitlement to rape that are core to his worldview are central to his appeal for men.
