Movies, books, whatever else floats my boat
My #lastfourwatched includes two rewatches and two imaginative films about filmmaking. Millennium Actress especially blew my mind. #LetterboxdFriday

Frankenstein in 35mm at the AFI Silver, let’s go!

A solid #lastfourwatched for #LetterboxdFriday. The highlight is a pair of scrappy crime flicks about ordinary men forced to compromise their morals. I love noir!

When I try to open the link, this message appears. I also can't find the article when I search (using DuckDuckGo if that makes any difference...)

For the first time in a while, I'm happy with my #lastfourwatched: DePalma at his most vicious, a tight '70s thriller, an anti-fascist morality play that pulls no punches, and Danny Boyle injecting the "motion" into pictures. Cinema! #LetterboxdFriday

I visited Scarecrow Video for a second time and was delighted to find an underrated gem.

Checked out two DVDs and Train Dreams (nothing motivates me to cross off a TBR list item like an upcoming film adaptation) and found two paperbacks on sale for $1 each!

My #LastFourWatched includes an all-time favorite, two mediocre 2024 releases, and an underappreciated indictment of recycled culture and regressive politics #LetterboxdFriday

Last night, I watched T2 Trainspotting for the first time since 2017 and it's bleakly impressive how well it holds up. A time capsule that feels more attuned to the present than the vast majority of movies released this year.

Precisely one theater in Fairfax County is showing The Order, and I am in it.

Just casually buying six books in the span of a week by adding two new books to the four used I picked up in Charlottesville…

Three of my #lastfourwatched were at the Virginia Film Festival, which already feels like a dream. (Not pictured: my review of The Piano Lesson that I slowly raised from 3 stars to 4.) #LetterboxdFriday

My first #LetterboxdFriday 📽️! #lastfourwatched are a favorite horror movie, an art house classic that grew on me, a pre-Election Day comfort watch, and a Devs cast reunion.

If you go to your profile page, the last four movies you logged should be displayed horizontally underneath your four “favorites.” (Sorry to jump in, but hope this helps!)

It looks like we won’t overlap; I’m going on Friday but probably won’t arrive until late. Let me know what you think of those movies! Here’s my line-up:

Blue skies, 70 degrees, the leaves starting to turn—what a perfect day for reading outside. Naturally, I'm reading a book in which it's raining all the time.

I enjoyed The Critic a lot more than you did, it appears. It’s the first Angelika mystery screening I've made it to.

This year's National Book Festival was a blast. I waited 90 minutes to get Emily Wilson's signature on my copy of The Odyssey, and it was worth it. Also picked up a book of poetry!

Wow, this room waiting for Nathalie A. Cabrol and Dante S. Lauretta at the National Book Festival is pretty crowded!

For anyone with a "Max" account, tonight is your last chance to watch Cory Finley's Bad Education before it leaves the app. Scandal + acidic class commentary + a career-best Hugh Jackman performance = quality entertainment
