My heart will never be the same. I’ve loved orcas for as long as I can remember. Yesterday I spent the day on a boat with two orca naturalists, on a special tour in the Salish Sea. We met up with the T123s (Stanley watched us watching him😍) and T100s together- it was breathtaking. ❤️

It’s been a minute, sky friends. I’ve been busy living in the moment, making art, spring gardening-being distracted by all things gardening & beach + friends time.
Sometimes it’s nice to not spend as much time on social media. Filtering. It creates peace.

There was a “Maker Faire” at my 10yo’s school this morning. Kids made things to sell for anywhere from 25cents to $2.
Our purchases:
*Sparkle Pom Pom Earrings!* 🤩 yes I will wear these to the studio tomorrow. Also, some cute bee things.
It was all really well done. The kids are impressive makers.

A quick garden update before I head to the studio for another day of felting making. The gorgeous coral rhododendron is blooming in the front yard and is blowing my mind🤩!

Calliope has taken to laying beneath the pear tree like the land seal she is. 🥰

A walk through the east side garden. Yes, I now refer to east and west garden sides because there is just so much to this thoughtfully planned property we bought last September.

My daughter Hannah @vhannah.bsky.social lives in Seoul, South Korea, and recently found this cute Korean copy of Anne Of Green Gables. The title translates to “Red Hair Anne” :)

Narrator: Hannah also has beautiful red hair, (never dyed green by a peddler’s potion).

Back to TOSH Arts Centre today to felt flowers, orcas, and ..shawls? I scored an extra long sturdy table to use for felting larger items, and I’m excited to give it a test run in the new studio.

This pretty rambling azalea is blooming under some other larger rhododendrons. Pale yellow in the shade is perfect. :)

We have 8 different rhododendrons in our garden, and the blooms are spectacular right now.The cherry is beginning to sprinkle petals like confetti, and little treasures are filling shady spots with colour. Currents, raspberries, apples, and pears to come.

Wool blooms coming to life in the studio. Love these :)
The flowers are part of a bigger sculpture underway. I have many more vines and tendrils to add, plus more and other blooms - which I love making. It’s been a busy week.

The garden we adopted with our house has huge, mature hostas living safe from island bunnies in large pots around the garden. Some are in the ground, but the ones in pots are massive jungle-like hostas that make my heart explode.
I wish I could go back and tell 20something gardener Amy about them.

It’s time to break out a fresh new olive oil soap for wet felting. 🙌

I’ve been busy making morning glories for a bigger project underway. These are the beginning of many more blooms.

My hands feel great after a day of smooshing wool in oily soap. :)

The prompt for #showmeyourknits is ‘gift knits’, so here are a few of mine: a hat for my husband, mittens for friends, and a pair of fingerless mittens for my daughter. I do like making mittens with motifs that mean something to the wearer. All these motifs were chosen with purpose.

Our garden🪴 is coming to life. 😍
We moved in last September, making this spring bloom a special gift to us. The garden sold the house.
My spine/body doesn’t let me garden like I used to, but I still do what I can and love documenting the changes.
