Today marks 60 years of Medicaid, a program that has transformed access to care for millions. But instead of honoring that legacy, Republicans in Congress passed Trump's budget bill last month, gutting Medicaid & imposing burdensome work reporting requirements intended to kick people off.

Direct File was an easy way for Americans to file their taxes for FREE each year.

It's a no-brainer — and it's popular. So why in the world did the Trump administration kill it?

To give a huge handout to giant tax prep companies like TurboTax that rip Americans off.

This is the kind of policy that would make a meaningful difference for women, children, families and early educators. We won’t ever get to a robust and equitable child care system with rinky-dink tax credits.
While billionaires get tax breaks, families can’t even find affordable child care.

Thank you @murray.senate.gov & @bobbyscott.house.gov for putting families first with the Child Care for Working Families Act. It’s time our policies worked for children and early educators—not billionaires.
After voting to kick millions of Americans off their health care, Republicans are focused on defunding PBS this week.

Meanwhile, Democrats are introducing a bill I wrote with Rep. Bobby Scott to make child care affordable and accessible for every family.

They’re using something called a “Direct Final Rule” to force the passage of harmful rules without time for meaningful public feedback. Take action now: Text COMMENT to 32434.

Funding cuts to Medicaid and other programs included in the sweeping tax-and-spending bill would hurt low-income households financially more than the tax cuts would boost their finances, according to nonpartisan analyses of the bill.
