Devastated to learn that our story was not the first use of douche canoe in a newspaper ☹️
A quick international search reveals only a handful of previous appearances of the phrase "douche canoe" in newspapers. The first of which, to give full credit, was in a quote used by Michael Hinkelman in his Talking Small Biz column in the Philadelphia Daily News, Sep 30, 2013:
