The old, long repurposed railway station is quite something too.

That's also where my all-time favourite cakes and coffee stop is - Patisserie Valerie. The coffee is good, the cakes and pastries are sublime.

Good people, and also... me.

A fairly long while ago, I wrote an article on Medium about honesty, about not pretending to skills, experience levels, or knowledge, we don't have. How honesty always matters.

While unproven, one of the speculative explanations for the name is that it was always a code - introducing young 'kittens' to fat 'cats'.
I think that speculation may be based on an interpretation of an old epigram that the Wikipedia page ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kit-Cat... ) features.

The old version of this is that smart people often seem uncertain, doubting, willing to change their minds, while hard conviction is the habit of the unwise or foolish.
Dunning-Kruger is an aspect or one result of this.

I tried the prompt: A man in a tracksuit shrugs, facing the viewer, as if to say "I don't know either"
I got a wierd street, with a rainbow in the road and in the background a giant blue bird behind mountains - couldn't see a man at all...

Trump's insistence that only Criminals are being sent to concentration camps is LITERALLY from the Nazi playbook.

Naturally, only they can determine who are criminals, and for what 'crimes', like any kind of opposite views.

Some mistakenly think that Full Scholarships are to add 'meritocracy' to the otherwise money-rigged University system. In truth, Scholarships help have high-performing graduates to lend legitimacy to a degree easily bought by some inbred wealthy moron that would otherwise be known as worthless.

That's not to say that AI cannot be a useful tool. It is simply that it CANNOT be a lazy or 'time saving' one. The user needs to concentrate on doing (and checking) ALL of the logic/reasoning components.

'Diana' isn't free of ego and emotion. She'll quote it, use it, in her learned responses without actually feeling or understanding it. That's an important distinction. If training data included emotion then the AI will emulate it, without understanding.

At least AI *knows* it is crap.

Except it doesn't. It doesn't understand that at all, or anything else. It just connects patterns, like a 'join the dots' puzzle, without ever understanding the image that joining the dots made.

The biggest issue I have by far with AI hype is that most of it (vast majority) compares to poor or worst baselines. Just like comparing ChatGPT to unskilled writers on bottom-dollar, rather than subject-matter-expert-writers.

Trump claims that the rest of the world treat US terribly. He's right, in all the wrong ways. The 13th Amendment of the US constitution allows slavery of convicts, which several state prisons use to not pay for forced convict labour. But the UN explicitly forbids this:

The above image is from just moments ago, days after the leak was fixed, but it can take a long time for all the water to dry out of plaster, during which time you wait to see if the plaster will sag or break from the water, or else crack and flake as it dries...

I'm absolutely gutted to be missing #BrightonSEO - more especially because it was going to be my last one for a while. However, flooding of my flat from the underfloor pipes of the flat above happened a few days back... bsky.app/profile/ammo...

Where this all started to go wrong was with people misunderstanding the original THREE classifications - That you wanted to interact/transact (e.g. upload, pay in), just used search as navigation, or else wanted information. 80% was 'Informational'. An answer or link to an answer is 'information'.

Well, the water has now completely stopped dripping through as far as I can tell. Now I just need to hope the plaster hasn't soaked and softened enough to come down...

Usually we really do grocery delivery right in the UK. However, when it does go wrong...
My 8pm delivery was 11 stops away at 8pm - He's managed just 3 stops since then and unless he changes something about his speed of work, there's no way my delivery is coming tonight at all.
