Between Blue Beetle, Birds of Prey, Shazam, and the Batman Scooby-Doo Mysteries, it's been a REALLY good comic book day, I have to say.

You know, I feel like Snapper Carr is long overdue for a comeback.

That said, though, I really love Nick Bradshaw's variant cover for Birds of Prey #1 - such a great homage!

I don't think there's going to be a single cover this year that beats this Russell Dauterman variant cover for She-Hulk #2 for me. It's just gorgeous! Plus, Invisible Woman, Scarlet Witch, Wasp, She-Hulk, and Hellcat? This is literally a dream team for me! (Give them a team book, Marvel!)

You know, Black Canary and Merry would have made for an interesting hero/sidekick situation back in the Golden Age. Between Dinah Drake's martial arts and detective skills and Merry Pemberton's devices and gadgets, they could have rounded each other out well.

I always thought it was criminal that DC never repurposed the Heckler as one of Joker’s nemeses, actually.

I've never watched the show - nor do I have any desire to - but I'm weirdly addicted to the Too Hot To Handle games that Netflix has put out in conjunction with their tv series.

Much more streamlined was the design they were playing around with when there was talk of Catwoman getting a spin-off. I like the all-black look! It doesn't get more effortless or elegant than this. It was eventually repurposed for The New Batman Adventures' sleeker, more stylized aesthetic.

They didn't have to update the costume much when they redesigned it. The purple ears, gloves, and boots were replaced by a classic cowl, opera-length gloves, and simple black boots, and the belt was redesigned a bit. I liked that the cowl was two-toned in black and gray. It's a pretty timeless look.

An early Batman '66-inspired Catwoman design for Batman: the Animated Series that went unused in favor of giving her a look that more closely resembled Michelle Pfeiffer's live action version of the character. I really love this design and have always wished it would have shown up somewhere.

This unused 90s Batwoman design by John Byrne lives rent-free in my head. While I'm ultimately glad it didn't happen, because then we might never have gotten Kate Kane as she is now, I often wonder what this version of the character might have been like.

Grant Morrison repurposing Luma Lynai (and so many others) as a member of the United Planets Superwatch was such a fantastic concept. I'd love to see that whole team return in some capacity. It was great seeing Luma as something more than just a Supergirl-look-a-like love interest for Superman.

Of all the characters we’ve had hang with the Amazons over the years - Supergirl, Harley - Mary Marvel feels like the most natural fit, as she’s a magic-based character who draws powers from Greek gods, plus the closer ties she’s formed with them this year. Marvels and Wonders gotta stick together!

What would that identity possibly be? No idea. I know they flirted with giving Helena this look, melding elements of the Huntress colour scheme and the Kathy Kane Batwoman costume, back when they were introducing her in Grayson, but they (perhaps wisely?) avoided that.

I've been thinking about this a lot, and I think that the best way for DC to allow both Huntresses - Helenas Wayne and Bertinelli - to coexist is to give Bertinelli a new costumed identity. I mean, they're allowing Supermen, Aquamen, Batgirls, and Flashes to share codenames, but not Huntresses.

Flamebird, Cordelia Chase, Venus (Marvel Comics), and Elle Woods.

I love that we've been getting a lot of Lilith Clay presence at DC Comics over the past several months! For a moment, it felt as though she had been forgotten, but between her teaming up with Power Girl in the present-set stories and appearing in World's Finest: Teen Titans, she's having a moment!

Sometimes, a piece of art feels like it was created specifically for you. (By Tony Harris, I believe it's meant to be an upcoming variant cover for the current Justice Society of America series?)

I'm so in love with how Steve Orlando writes Scarlet Witch. He's writing a compassionate and loving Wanda, one who is strong but kind, open and accepting, and she's a joy to read. This is building on the work that James Robinson did so well with her in her previous solo series. I absolutely love it!
