Sinners (2025)

One of the best horror films of this decade and one of the best films about music that I've ever seen. A good appreciation for the Delta Blues helps but the ideas, originality, acting, setting, visuals and well, absolutely everything else make this a classic. Incredible.

Look hard enough in any old European church and you can find something very, very death metal.

St Sebaldskirche, Nuremberg.

I don't fancy the potential tarifs and other import costs but I would absolutely get this jigsaw if it was at a reasonable price.

It's been a very, very Florida death metal day today. 😂

I saw Cynic tonight - a band I loved in 1993 but have never seen play live. Just the one original member left.

I only mention this because seeing Paul Masvidal play even one song off their 'Focus' album fills me with even more joy than reading about Elron Musk's disastrous day. 🤣🤣🤣

The same people who were ranting and raving about how an EU Army would undermine our sovereignty are the same people cheerleading the idea of Trump and Musk interfering in UK politics and making us a vassal state of the US.

Yes, this is about Dogshit Puppet Master Dominic Cummings.

I went 8 days without watching a film! The longest since at least 2020.

Making an effort to read more books by women this year. It's paying off already with this collection. Flight 2212 is one of the best, most horrifying short stories I've ever read.

Any women author recommendations? Especially horror/sci-fi/fantasy or history/non-fiction.

Credit where it's due, this completely blank book Reform UK have been handing out to journalists is quality trolling.

And there it is, the only nice thing I'll ever say about them.

The Tory party that fetishised Winston Churchill, had been led by Boris Johnson the previous year and then, after that, had made Therese Coffey the Health Secretary wanted to call Starmer fat?? 🤣🤣

Chewie (bottom) having a massive sulk because he's been yelled at for persistently barking at Pazuzu (rabbit, not pictured) while George (top) 'protects' him from the mean humans' loud words. 🤣🤣🤣

Looks like Liz Truss - WHO CRASHED THE ECONOMY - is going to be busy suing a LOT of people.

Choose 20 comics that have stayed with you or influenced you. One comic per day for 20 days, in no particular order.
No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

Day 11: Doom Patrol, issue 26 (1989).

Chances are I'll read madder paragraphs than this before the end of the year but this is a cracking start.
