I don't have that, but I have on occasion turned my phone off and put it in a different room. I don't doomscroll but I do spend a stupid amount of time playing dumb games.

Oh, I get it. Barry was in kitty ER for two nights a few years ago and I was both deeply worried and pissed at the expense. (He is fine! Bladder crystals which we caught in time.)

I took six months off in between jobs and didn’t even start looking until four months in. I just told people I was taking a break and wouldn’t start looking for “a few months”.

Changed my life for sure

I would just have a professional do it, if it were something I wanted done.

I totally see that comments are more exciting because words! But I also come from LiveJournal fandom where it was comment or nothing, and maybe there were more comments bc of that but prob not. I see the kudos button as giving drastically more Reader Yay. it’s very much a YMMV thing, I think.

Which is not to say that I don’t leave comments. But I love that kudos button for being exactly the “hey I liked this” that is my gut responses to a high percentage of the fic I read.

I am an avid user of the kudos button, and I do wish it got more general respect and that people got as excited by their (almost always larger) kudos count. 1198 people like the fic! that’s great! But it seems a comment of “I like this fic” counts more somehow even though it is the same thing.
