I don't believe there are that many people who want to learn to speak Thai but I'm glad I can make a living helping those who do. No, I don't want to make more money, use a subscription model or scale my course. I have fun teaching and I'm satisfied with small class sizes. It's not that serious.

If you want a peaceful life just learn to speak Thai, build a nice home and live in a remote province of Thailand. Scenery is top tier & the people are lovely. Outside of gardening & community activities you may need to investment in home entertainment to create what's basically retirement heaven.

My unhinged theory about what's wrong with IG and it's algorithm: Meta is testing mixing in AI generated content to see how it affects activity and they're doing this live with real users so a lot of engagement is being redirected from creators to AI slop accounts. 1/5

The 'ph' in Phuket is pronounced with a 'p' sound not an 'f' sound. It's an English transliteration of a Thai word. Hope this helps.

In Thai, the term universally understood as "I miss you" or คิดถึง (kid teung) is a bit of a misnomer because it's made up of two words: คิด (kit) means "to think" and ถึง means "to" or in this context "about"... 1/2

It makes me uncomfortable how comfortable some black Americans are with neocolonialism. Like, what do you mean you're moving to Thailand but have no plans to learn the language or anything about the culture and only plan to hang out with people who look like you??

That moment when you start to get frustrated after studying Thai for a while but then go out somewhere and overhear a conversation in Thai and suddenly realize you understand a lot of what's being said.

One way to accelerate your ability to speak Thai is to ask yourself "can I say this in Thai?" as you go through your daily routine. You might be surprised how much you already know how to say based on what we've already learned.
