Anthony Boyd, the leader of an anti-death penalty group run by prisoners on Alabama’s death row, was convicted largely on the word of a co-defendant who testified to escape the death penalty. Boyd’s execution is set for next week.

No physical evidence connected Anthony Boyd to a 1993 murder. He was sent to death row on the word of a co-defendant who testified under the threat of capital punishment.
