Journalists should never be arrested for doing their jobs.

Prosecutors in Miami-Dade County must immediately drop the charges against photojournalist Dave Decker, and police should apologize for arresting him for doing nothing more than working to keep the public informed.

Going off of this, you really don’t need to post the sordid details of how someone abused a child. It’s really fine to leave that out. Really, we’re good.
Whenever these files come up, adult CSA survivors have a rough day. When you talk about this, remember that those survivors are in the room.

You may not think they are. You may think you would know if they were. You don't know.

Baruch Hashem!!! Awful that he had to wait in a holding cell to learn his fate minutes before the schedule execution but of course the psychological torture is half the point.

It's World Ballet Day, so I'm resharing a piece I reported for ELLE about dancers fighting for workplace protections for pregnancy, and working to change the field for the better: "We’re told we should do it ‘for the love of the art form,’ but we still have bills to pay and families to raise."

if you are food insecure for both the humans and pets in your household there is a tool called Pet Help Finder that can help locate pet food banks nearby and other free or reduced price assistance and supplies for pets.
no one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE, should have to give up their pet bc of this.

Once again, we need to define what “feminism” is here. Not everything any woman ever does—not even in the political realm, and not even concerning gender—is “feminism.” Opposing the rights of women as a class to equal status and dignity is in fact called “antifeminism.”

The rabbinic backlash against Zohran Mamdani isn’t about Mamdani at all
Since the tenuous ceasefire began, rabbis are struggling to reckon with the impact of the last two years. Mamdani is an easy outlet.

Anthony Boyd, the leader of an anti-death penalty group run by prisoners on Alabama’s death row, was convicted largely on the word of a co-defendant who testified to escape the death penalty. Boyd’s execution is set for next week.

No physical evidence connected Anthony Boyd to a 1993 murder. He was sent to death row on the word of a co-defendant who testified under the threat of capital punishment.
