insolvency is also of interest

"the universities intend that London and South East niversity Group will use the existing legal names of the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent as the trading names for the two student-facing academic divisions corresponding to the current universities "

will be co-ordinated.

is there any enthusiam in the sector for this?
much of the HE content appears to have been pulled out of the back of drawers and seems to be politically tone deaf. I do not see how any of the ambitions

there appears to be limited awareness that a crackdown on franchising could unwind 5-10 franchising HEIs very rapidly.
Yes - those managements have behaved badly, but we know from Dundee that it isn't those failed managers and governors who pay the price

... but that was previously a tacit consequence. The new language is more robust and the "reset" appears to be a blunter tone.

Also, for all that we enjoy the comedic stylings of Kemi Badenoch, a party leadership which is only three percentage points ahead of her, having been at 45% as recently as 18 months ago, might want to have a look in the mirror and ask what it is doing wrong

well, I think there is a lot of effort being made to obscure the takeover.
If you read Kent's published annual reports for the last 5 years, it is a horrible trajectory.

The Greenwich release has a FAQ section:
"The two universities will retain their name, identity and local presence"
There may be some interesting legal shenanigans here, since Kent has a Royal Charter.
but "trading as" the University of Kent may be the pertinent concept.

if there is only one legal entity at the end, then we are talking about continuation of "brands". Cf, University of Arts London and CSM etc.

I think "Group" may be a bit of spin to spare Kent's blushes.
"The new ‘super university’ will have one unified governing body, academic board and executive team, and one vice-chancellor. The first vice-chancellor will be Professor Jane Harrington."
