Logging in to ABC App to watch some new Maigret, I found myself watching Rachel Griffiths’ series about the intersection between art and war.
I watched the entire series in one sitting (barring occasional emotional self gathering breaks). Her empathetic presentation struck a deep chord with me.

Watching the Champs League highlights and wondering not for the first time whether Belgium’s Club Brugge were the inspiration for Roy & HG’s Club Buggery.

Woops! The graphics on the first episode of the latest season on AppleTV’s Prehistoric Planet have the Earth rotating the wrong way. Why do so many people get this wrong, considering we witness it every day?
But AppleTV do get the direction of Earth’s rotation around the sun correct!

Fun sportsball day today. I kept the cricket back in reserve to watch on delay after an intense three hours of live sumo.
Yeah, it’s an unusual mix.

Saw a pommy flag at the cricket from tiny Birchanger, one of my old haunts back in the day. I used to walk there after crossing the county border, although I can’t think why…

On the new Tiger cubs player numbers, I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of changing your number at any time. I’m not superstitious but… if there’s anything that attracts bad luck this is it. Perhaps it’s more acceptable immediately after your debut year but even then I respect those who don’t.

Just watching the three parter on SBS about the Irish Civil War in the 1920s, about which I was almost entirely ignorant. Much recommended whatever your background.

It was courageous of the stadium in Indore to play Am I Ever Going To See Your Face Again between overs in our match against SAfrica.
It inspired Alana King to new heights so all good, I guess.

As I suggested a few days ago, that’s my ideal GF in that it was a great contest but with a definitive winner.

Is it a bad thing not to have close results in our Footy Finals?
As a neutral I want to see a tough testing contest between two good sides…but with a definitive winner.
Is this an unfashionable view?

A slightly weird new car ad’s agency should’ve referred to A Well Respected Man for the pronunciation of ‘regatta’. It does of course rhyme with ‘get at her’.

Is anyone still watching the Q-fart?

I’m looking fwd to tonight’s Qld footy final but the intense experiences of attending the Tiges finals 2017-19 has rather spoiled me for what used to be my most anticipated sporting time of year in ways that I haven’t fully understood.

Mabior coulda shoulda put the Crows away in Q2. Adelaide still within five minutes of sparkling footy of getting in front.

Dipping into Brian & Maggie, it seems to me that Harriet Walter is channelling the magnificent Siân Phillips’ Livia in her portrayal of Thatcher. #IClavdivs

The entire 1979 Bathurst 1000 race has just been uploaded on YT (Super100mph) for anyone interested.
It was my only year on the mountain and was a rare weekend shared with the VFL GF, which we watched at the Bathurst RSL.
