"Tunisia’s first president, Habib Bourguiba, once claimed that there was an imaginary north-south line in Libya (in the center of the country) to the east of which peopled tend to consume rice and to the west couscous. The “couscous” line is where the Maghreb begins and the Mashreq ends.”
