Painter and traveler. Went to college in Philadelphia, graduate school in NYC, and lived in Puerto Rico for ten years. Now teaching painting and drawing at Ithaca College. Hoping to keep up with the people I’ve met over the years here (not on freakin FB)
Getting ready for some travel and sprucing up my new sketchbook!

Looking Back is another iteration of Quench, same space, same gesture, with a different model… I often make the same painting again and again, trying to get it right, or even get it right again.

Quench. This painting borrowed a gesture from a favorite Susanna and the Elders painting of mine… Any guesses which one?

A favorite photo of mine that my former brother-in-law took of someone taking a photo of my painting “Inversion”. Voyeurism on voyeurism.

Ithaca, this is happening tomorrow!

Inversion. This painting and included painting in the background (that I I spliced in) was the seed for my Susanna Series exploring voyeurism and the gaze.

Into the Woods. The way I handled the leaves was a bit odd, but I recycled that stylization in later paintings with bits of the outdoors peeking through windows.

Aurora. This one I have up in my dining room. It took a long time for me to be able to live with my paintings… to see them on the wall and not want to take them down and work on them, or throw them out the window! But this one I’m quite happy living with.

Into the Woods from 2013. This one is somewhere in PR (in a collection in Caguas I think). It’s sometimes hard to keep track of your paintings once they’re out in the world.

My painting Array from 2011. Now in the palmer art museum. This painting sparked a long series of paintings for me that I’m still working on… new versions of this one.
