I just put this down, so this might be recency bias, but today’s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN by @thatjoekelly.bsky.social and @pepelarraz.bsky.social made my heart swell, especially for its moral clarity in dark times, and is my favorite issue of the comic since, perhaps, issue #800. I finally read this. It stunk.
Hickman made “a cabal inside a cabal inside a cabal” the primary plot in a Spider-Man book instead of Peter.
Everyone who insisted this book was about a (still to be defined) midlife-crisis power-fantasy, family, and an ignored class rising against elites was wrong.

I finally read this. It stunk.
Hickman made “a cabal inside a cabal inside a cabal” the primary plot in a Spider-Man book instead of Peter.

Not quite THE Holy Grail, but I picked up something I've wanted for decades today: the 1966 "Superheroes Club" Spider-Man poster, with Marie Severin's art over a Ditko original. I've never seen one of these beauties in the wild, and I immediately bought it despite not being able to afford it.

Not quite THE Holy Grail, but I picked up something I've wanted for decades today: the 1966 "Superheroes Club" Spider-Man poster, with Marie Severin's art over a Ditko original. I've never seen one of these beauties in the wild, and I immediately bought it despite not being able to afford it.

One, from issue #800, is an image of Peter throwing himself in the path of a bullet for someone he believes is truly evil, but not beyond redemption. Not only has the Green Goblin tortured Peter, killed his girlfriend, just killed his high school friend, and threatened everyone in his life, (2/10)
