Concept sketches for Key:
Early concept sketches of Key for webcomic "Book of Change".
Photo's from the sketchbook are a bit messy, since my sketchbook is THICK and it is pretty much impossible to take good photos with.

Concept sketches for Key:
Final character reference sheet for Key.
Character ref sheet of Key for webcomic "Book of Change".
The design is inspired by birds of paradise.
I tried to incorporate elements from both the object itself as well as Murmeli's shapes, since key is a part of him.

I though this was pretty recent, but it seems this is all the way back from 2020. Time sure flies! :'D
Love drawing this perpetually tired programmer.

Another older character sheet (2020).
Glad I drew these! Slow update schedule means you sometimes don't get to draw a character for a while. It is easy to forget little details while they are on bench.

Characters or character concepts first. Then important scenes in various parts of the story that I wrestle into a plot. Then refining the plot, the scenes and the characters as I go along.
Sometimes discovering new layers of a character helps really understand and flesh out a future scene better.
