It took four years, but our Newfoundland mix finally realized that she is tall enough to steal food off the kitchen counters. Please keep our family in your thoughts during this trying time.

In the good news department, my dog Swayze’s seizures are under control. For the past year high-stress events like going to the vets caused seizures, but today she went without any issues at all.
A big goofy brown and white dog (Newfoundland/poodle mix) lying on the floor and looking up at the camera with a the dog’s big tongue flopping out. She is a good dog at the vets. Her name is Swayze.

This is my cat Quigley Ponderosa, but my nickname for him is The Perfect Little Man Who is Perfect. He loves to cuddle and sounds like Stede Bonnet inside my head. These are some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken him over the last few days. That’s it. I just wanted to share him.

Today for Martin Luther King Jr Day, I am sharing my favorite quote of his, which is embedded in the promenade in San Diego.
The question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be. Will be extremists for hate or for love? Will we be extremists for the preservation of injustice or the extension of justice?
