Be nice to others, read more books, glare at every "smart" device.

Views are my own.
and THIS is why I always buy @cardsagainsthumanity.com's dumb Black Friday thing.

I have started my re-listen to the archive of the podcast Til Death Do Us Blart, an annual review podcast of the movie Paul Blart 2 by the McElroy Brothers and the dingdongs from The Worst Idea of All Time.

This podcast is art. #DeathBlart is part of my Thanksgiving, can't wait for this year's ep.

The earliest known example of ‘brain rot’ comes from Henry David Thoreau in his 1854 book “Walden.”

“While England endeavors to cure the potato-rot, will not any endeavor to cure the brain-rot, which prevails so much more widely and fatally?”

The project I've worked on for the last six months is live today!

I'm a complex mix of relieved, panicked, happy beyond belief and dead-eyed realization that this was just the first step of several.

Printing presses kept their letters in cases.

Capital letters went in the upper case.
Smaller letters went in the lower case.

This is why we say ‘UPPER CASE’ and ‘lower case.’

Ok, but what did we call them before the invention of the printing press?

MAJUSCULE and minuscule.

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Kiddo brought home some kindy crud. We are both sniffling on the couch, but at least she wanted to watch old school Mr. Rogers. There’s some good today.

I love this for so many reasons:
- I get to show this to my little girl, who loves to read more than anything (today is her fifth birthday! What a gift!)
- Mychal is a gem of a human, the perfect person to carry the mantle
- the world needs more Book and Library Joy!!

Hey, Notre Dame folks! This book was incredible, and I can only imagine how good the talk will be. I’ll be there, and you should, too!

Attending this talk today. Hoping to come out of it with a sense of peace and understanding that’s been lacking in recent years.
How can we overcome political polarization?

The Notre Dame Democracy Initiative is hosting Governors Spencer Cox (R-UT) and Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM) today for a bipartisan conversation with Fr. Bob Dowd: https://t.co/Kt0XZnTPu3 https://t.co/dtMBLFIBMO

I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.
I Am An AI Hater
I am an AI hater. This is considered rude, but I do not care, because I am a hater.

Yo @cardsagainsthumanity.com - figured y’all would enjoy a Diamond Potato update.

We’re wrinkled. We’re shriveled.

But we’re also seeing some growth? Read into it what you will.

Last day of #GenCon! As per tradition, the frantic Math Trade mad rush to get some new games and get rid of some old ones. Also tradition: our game of @divinationrpg.bsky.social to break our hearts. And finding some car charging for the trip home. It was a Gen Con for the books!

This was the highlight of our trip so far. We were the third game out of five - happy to know my lineage kept the royal throne!
Over #gencon2025 we've been playing a very special Oath chronicle. I've been taking notes throughout and, at the end of each game, have been playing the role of the court chronicler. Tonight (6pm, room 135), at the Chancellor's behest, we will present our true and accurate historie to all assembled.

July & August are going to be VERY busy months for me at work - two major projects coming online.

But ALSO #GenCon is smack dab in the middle. A long weekend of gaming will be a welcome brain break. 🎲🐲🎉

Hey @mattrudkinweather.bsky.social - I have a flight question! I’m coming home from Philly. My arrival time in Chicago just moved up 15 minutes earlier. How do they know the plane will make it there sooner? How accurate is it?

I’m happy - makes my tight connection a little less tight!

Just landed in Philly! ALA, here I come!

Not to whine about sunny weather, but I live where winter hurts my face so I don’t have to deal with 81 degrees at 9:30 in the morning. Would love this heatwave to break!
