My phone is being potato and was not wanting to focus when I went in back green space, but I did manage to show California partner so they could see the magenta shiny (I could see green while driving but not at townhouse)

I was driving back from emerg (roommate discharged, new med dose to try), and could see aurora clearly while driving on the freeway equivalent, that has big light up highway lights.
Normally, I have to drive 1-2 hours out of city for barely visible.
I joked "who'd testing nukes in ionosphere?"

Parts of San Diego county apparently visible in darker sky areas, but also, trying to get to darker sky areas.

I could see green while I was driving, but only burgundy when in greenspace behind the townhouse.
Confusing thing for me is that I had to look in southern sky, which isn't normally where I have seen it.
My phone didn't wanna get good photos, but I did manage to video partner on Signal to show them

I think you're seeing a bit of the Aurora - massive solar storm
I was shocked at being able to see it in Ottawa while driving on highway with highway lampposts lit up -- usually when I have seen Northern Lights here, I've had to drive out of city an hour to where there is much less ambient light

Huh. I should -not- try to figure out what is up with the abnormal flags on bloodwork.
But, something involving a kidney is my guess.
Also wow, their electrolytes were absolutely wrecked when I brought them in with the minor stroke last August

Yay resident or student in doing preliminary exam.
Watching the monitor numbers go all over the place as roommate talks. It's not emotional or upset, maybe effort of speaking, might be cognitive load.

Someone in Emergent Care listening to a car chase and sirens movie
Looked up and there are towels stuffed in air vent above roommate bed.
Looked up again and realized there is blood splatter.
Um.
It's dry at least?
(Fairly sure it is blood, not fecal matter. Really hope it isn't fecal matter)

Roommate is now in a bed, they messaged me location in emergent care while I was waiting for pizza to cook.
They're on their laptop, hooked up to monitor, and in normal sinus rhythm, because of course they are 🤦 (a few PVCs once in a while)

I have eaten a pepperoni flatbread pizza. It was okay. Would I want to pay $9 after tax for it again? Not really.
Also, not sure if it was a heating coil or refrigeration coil, but something electrical making a high pitched noise almost like continuous fire alarm was a lot to deal with.

That post wasn't clear: sandwich vending machine was present August 2024.

Damn, when I drove to this hospital (had brought them to closer hospital for stroke, ambulance then brought them here), there was a vending machine that had sandwiches.
There isn't one anymore, cafeteria is closed, only option is Tim Hortons or chip vending machine with $5 hummus and crackers.

I look up from typing and they've wandered off, leaving their pile of stuff behind.
Including their new MacBook. And the Kardia 6L. Who brings a laptop to emerg? The roommate. 🤦
Ah they came back, I go find the cafeteria or vending machines near it. Or Tim Hortons if my arms get tired first.

Estimated wait time board is now at 2 hours 51 minutes - they have had an EKG, bloodwork taken.
The Kardia 6L is now showing as normal sinus rhythm and 97bpm 🤦
I had joked in the car they need to be bored more often.
Will go find food, was hoping they'd get bed first, as I know the way from there

The number of people wearing masks is less than last time.
The number of people playing videos out loud or phoning people on speakerphone is more.

2 hour 47 minutes estimated wait time to see a doctor for Emergent care is really quite decent
(Yeah, it may change. Yes, it's based off how long patients in last two hours waited, so it is not precise, but considering board was 7 hours last time I brought them in)

(I suspect "only patient allowed in", is measles protocols. Discomfort and unease at minimum to everyone who encouraged the return of measles, after it was considered eliminated in Canada)

Media literacy and critically thinking about images and video we encounter seems likely to remain important.
Being able to distinctly say "no, that is created video, that isn't actually me and here is why within the video you can tell it's fake" seems a useful skill to have.

(was searching via a screen cap for reverse image search. It has definitely been reposted a lot in last few months on various platforms. I don't think TikTok is indexed, but I don't have it and not going looking there)

There is a matching video on FB from a year ago, text doesn't seem quite garbled enough for the generative video models available at that time.
(Unless this is from a demo that I missed which is possible)
I feel like early models also didn't manage walking sway camera movement

Where was this shot?
License plates look like mix of European and other regions
Text is either garbled or mirrored
So trying to figure out if actual video with weird compression or generative AI
