I'll be teaching a seminar on experimental methods in the 2025 Postgraduate Methodological Seminar Series, organized by the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Autonomous University of Madrid— in case anyone is interested 😀

Excited to be in Brussels at the UN Women Expert Group Meeting on social norms and women's political participation.

The study investigates Americans' reactions to racially offensive speech, focusing on perceptions of social inappropriateness. It reveals that White Republicans are more likely to rate anti-White statements as socially inappropriate compared to other groups.

I also found that information about previous norm violations has a more dramatic effect on those more likely to hold anti-immigrant prejudice.

Exposed participants were more likely to produce hateful comments themselves.

This paper shows that exposure to hate speech on online platforms fosters further hate because social norms weaken.

First, I used a norm-elicitation procedure to establish whether xenophobic comments are understood as norm violations on online platforms. Spoilers: they do.

I didn’t like this book as much as I wanted to like it. The author is incredibly witty, however, I found it less funny and more dispiriting than I anticipated
