The "95%" of people who either don't care or harbor nascent transphobia, aren't going to vote against their material needs if they feel someone is actually trying to improve their lives. At the very least, they aren't going to vote GOP based on an exclusively anti-trans message.

In a world where corporate mass media matters less and less to people, running on affordability and material needs while advancing trans rights rather than just defending them is a winning strategy.
