If you want to present the pieced in storybook form, this is unhinged and I kinda love it. We thrifted it. www.thriftbooks.com/w/the-story-...

I am sadly unsurprised that there are multiple complainants now.

Some of Gross’s allegations here are also unsettling.

Also a very small Star Wars sign by the 10 year old.

Next time I should make my sign bigger.

Our seven year old insisted that her sign feature Squirrel Girl’s friend Tippy Toe.

For Magistra Frizzle purposes, I would like a poodle skirt but instead of a poodle it’s one of these dogs.

This blanket has made its way to its recipient, my new nephew. It’s a kind of grown up looking pattern, because I expect him to be an aesthetically dignified baby, but in washable fuzzy yarn for snuggles.

My initial intro to Anglicanism looked more like this, so any intro that is broader and more honest is helpful.

There is an amazing Roman marble collection touring at the Art Institute in Chicago.

I saw this and thought immediately “ah it’s @gregorystringer.bsky.social’s guy!”

Please enjoy my 9 year old’s contribution to the Pentecost festivities

She doodles and colors SG characters too, we remain big fans in our house!

I offered to write “Happy 7th Birthday” in the speech balloon, but my daughter said that didn’t make sense.

She had a very specific vision, which was for me to render this Squirrel Girl panel in buttercream so she could eat Hippo the Hippo’s face.

Actual yarn is currently in use for crochet projects. Here’s the digital version, though I need to update it with some Lovaas connections I learned the other day. (This was a brainstorm for a talk I wrote, I was trying to keep my Austrians straight.)

I ran across this at the library yesterday. I’m only a little way into it, but it seems relevant here.

The 6 year old has been coming home from school with reports she has written about subjects of her choice. So far, we have hippos and Edgar Allen Poe.

If you live in Illinois, you can call your state rep in support of this HB2827. The last letter to the editor (by @whitneyfharrison.bsky.social and others) in the Chicago Tribune lays out why.

I have now listened to/read enough @christianityon.bsky.social that my response to this Simone Weil paragraph was, “Jon is right, give this woman a Gundam.”

At the Art Institute, I used my @greekmythcomix.bsky.social sweater as antiquities camouflage. No one can even see me.

After we spent an afternoon at the Art Institute this week, the 9 year old rushed to his room to build a LEGO model “while I still remember the details of what inspired me.”

His great, urgent inspiration: the ticket booth at the parking garage.
