If you’re making a different argument than the one he is then you have to very explicitly say that (and then he’ll drive it back to his original argument because that’s what he does). Otherwise you’re giving him fodder to say you just understand his argument.

This isn’t a ‘far past’ feature though. And it’s employed by a negligible amount of cars in production today. So continuing to bring it up is just as bad faith as the arguments you’re countering.

You could try Pepcid at the start (or a few days before) and over the course of like 5 days. Some research and LOTS of anecdotal results point to h2 blockers (and h1) helping to minimize the inflammatory response that comes along.
